About Kristine…

Kristine A. Kippins, JD is a seasoned legal, political, and advocacy professional with two decades of experience as a lawyer, campaign strategist, and issue advocate. A progressive constitutionalist, her career has been dedicated to advancing progressive issues, including intersectional gender justice, judicial reform, and reproductive rights, and cultivating the next generation of advocates.

Kristine began her legal career in Florida as a transactional commercial real estate attorney but soon redirected her path to pursue her passion for politics. She transitioned into campaign work, contributing to local, state, and national races for progressive candidates across the country, including Hillary Clinton in 2007-08.

For over 17 years, Kristine has been at the forefront of policy development in Washington, D.C., shaping critical civil rights and judicial reform initiatives. As Deputy Legal Director for Policy at Lambda Legal, she spearheaded federal and state policy strategies to advance LGBTQ+ rights and improve queer representation in the judiciary. At the Constitutional Accountability Center as Policy Director, she led federal policy efforts to make more tangible the promises of the U.S. Constitution, including leading the charge to end qualified immunity. Her tenure as Federal Policy Counsel at the Center for Reproductive Rights saw her managing coalitions and organizing several efforts behind the landmark U.S. Supreme Court abortion rights case, Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt. As Director of External Affairs at the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy, she led the Judicial Nominations Task Force and guided affiliated judicial nominees through the Senate confirmation process.

Beyond her policy work, Kristine is an abortion storyteller with We Testify and a former board chair of SIECUS: Sex Ed for Social Change. A proud native New Yorker born to Guyanese immigrants, she holds a law degree from William & Mary Law School and an undergraduate degree in business from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. In her spare time, Kristine loves to learn Italian and dance to salsa, merengue, and bachata.
